Moto Maker is a nice differentiator for the Moto X; you can customize many aspects of how your phone looks.

According to prolific leaker Evan Blass the next version of the Moto G, Motorola’s mid-range device, will get to join the party. He offered the following screenshot on Twitter.

You may be able to add a whole bunch of color to your Moto G.

There were no further details, but the images match the aesthetic of previous leaks about the Moto G with the vertical bar and finger divot on the back.

Motorola last released the Moto G in September, so we could get to see a final version within the next couple of months. Or Motorola could spring it on us sooner, given the recent run of leaks. We’ll keep a lookout to see what happens.

Why this matters: Motorola may not include the best cameras in their smartphones, but the customization capabilities of Moto Maker can’t be beat. While high-end phones get most publicity, a lot of people buy devices in this product category. So Moto Maker gives the company a leg up at appealing to those looking at competing devices.
