The profile picture is an easy way to distinguish who is signed in to an Android Lollipop phone or tablet.
Whether it’s because you have a new hairstyle or would rather throw in a favorite cartoon character to represent yourself, there will come a time when you want to change the image. Here’s how to do it.
First, from the lock screen make sure you’re signed in to the right account. Look for the profile picture on the lock screen or swipe down and view it from the Quick Settings menu. If it’s not the right one you can switch accounts and even add or delete a user.
Next, go to Settings > Users & Profiles. Touch your profile and then select the icon next to your name (this is also the right spot to update your nickname).
Then select Take photo or Choose photo from Gallery. When you do the latter you’ll see the Recent images selection pop up first. However, you can touch the slide-out menu and select an image from your Google Drive, Google Photos, Dropbox, or any other cloud-enabled account connected to your device.
Once you select a picture you’ll be able to crop it to your liking. Then hit Save and your new image is set.
