Number Nine's Revolution 3D SGRAM just misses the chart despite a tempting $179 price tag.

SUMMARY
Number Nine Revolution 3D SGRAM

PRO: Top-rate 2D performance, good price for a Number Nine board
CON: Choppy AVI video playback, 3D performance is slow, no toll-free or weekend support
$179; 4MB of SGRAM; 220-MHz RAMDAC; Number Nine Ticket to Ride chip; bundled browser

Except for the type of RAM it uses, the Number Nine Revolution 3D SGRAM is a carbon copy of the Revolution 3D board we tested last November. However, at $179 the new SGRAM board costs over $100 less than the older WRAM-based board and has nearly the same 2D performance. But if you're looking for top-notch 3D, look elsewhere. The Revolution 3D SGRAM had slow 3D performance compared to other boards we've seen.
