Top 10 Graphics Boards

Number Nine's Revolution 3D SGRAM just misses the chart despite a tempting $179 price tag.

This month, we tested four new boards, the Elsa Victory Erazor, the NewCom Dash, the Number Nine Revolution 3D SGRAM, and the Yuan 3Dxtreme. The Erazor and the 3Dxtreme are both based on nVidia's Riva 128 chip, so they are powerful performers overall. Neither made our chart, though. The Erazor missed because it lacks some key utilities. The 3Dxtreme didn't make it because it isn't a strong enough package: Its performance is decent, but the company could be more generous with support, and the board is also missing some basic utilities most other graphics cards include.
