Eizo Nanao FlexScan L3300
One of a new breed of (almost) affordable LCDs that are truly a sight for sore eyes.
Flat-panel LCDs are like six-pack abdominal muscles: attractive and sexy but hard to come by. While abs of iron require thousands of reps, an LCD monitor has always demanded a gym bag full of cash.
Eizo Nanao's FlexScan L330 15-inch LCD is one of the new exceptions to this rule. At $949, the diminutive monitor provides a 15-inch-diagonal viewing area that effectively replaces your bulky 17-inch CRT. The RGB analog image has 16.7 million colors, but it requires the native 1024 by 768 resolution to avoid a grainy look.
Setup is Windows Plug and Play, and user-configuration controls are on the front panel. Your stomach may not be as flat as you'd like, but at least now you can enhance your desktop's appearance with an eye-pleasing flat panel.
What's hot: Easy setup and controls.
What's not: Grainy at low resolutions.
Geek factor: Medium
