You get a lot more for your power dollar this month: Systems based on Pentium II-333 and PII-300 chips abound. In fact, Dell's OptiPlex GXa 266 is the only ranked machine with a CPU slower than 300 MHz. Our number one finisher, Gateway's new G6-333, racked up the highest PC WorldBench 98 performance score ever for a Windows 95 system, testing 8 percent faster than Dell's comparable Dimension XPS D333 while costing $115 less. We also reviewed the PC 3500 6300, a Pentium II-300 model from Digital. Though well designed and a reasonably good performer, it costs a bit too much to earn a spot on this month's chart.
