Corel to Offer One-Stop Web Publishing

New WebMaster Suite includes Web authoring tools, database publishing, site management, graphics software, even animation and VRML tools.

Tired of the mishmash of Web authoring tools and graphics software needed to create and publish a Web site? Corel this week introduces WebMaster Suite, a comprehensive collection of tools for Web publishers.

This latest incarnation of Corel%squots Web.Graphics, scheduled to ship in early March, fits on two CDs and includes:

  • Web.Designer: An HTML authoring program that supports tables, forms, image maps, and more. Tables editing isn%squott a WYSIWYG option.
  • Web.SiteManager: Looking conspicuously like its competitors (FrontPage, QuickSite, NetCarta, and others) this dual-pane site manager maintains links, updates broken links, and gives a visual inventory of the contents of a Web site.
  • Web.PhotoPaint: If you can%squott afford Adobe%squots Photoshop, Web.PhotoPaint features many of the most common image-editing tools, including special effects, drop shadows, and comes bundled with several Kais Power Tools (KPT) filters.
  • Web.Data: To post databases from any source (SQL or ODBC) on the Web or an intranet, Web.Data lets users select records to publish, and helps them sort and lay out the information in an HTML page.
  • Web.Move: Lets you create or import animations and save them as animated GIFs, Java applets, or AVI movies.
  • Web.World: You can create VRML 1 worlds with this visual tool.
  • Image library: Has more than 8,000 images, including some animated clip art.

WebMaster Suite is expected to cost about $250, or $59.95 for users who upgrade from Web.Graphics.
