Service uses AOL Buddy Lists features to alert you when other members are online; allows for real-time chat between Navigator users.

Netscape Communications and America Online today announced a messaging service designed to speed electronic messaging between parties regardless of which online service or Internet service provider they use.

The service will also be available from the Netscape Community section within Netcenter, Netscape%squots online business center, they said.

Netscape%squots AOL Instant Messenger will be included in Netscape%squots client software by the end of the year and will also be available via download from Netcenter, officials said.

The companies%squot agreement also calls for AOL to develop a featured channel for Netscape Netcaster, the push component of Communicator, officials said.
