Cornerstone Peripherals P1650
WHAT'S HOT: With a maximum resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels, this model is capable of higher resolutions than most of the other 21-inch monitors we've tested lately.
Controls were detailed, but straightforward, allowing you to fine-tune color settings. All configuration options appear after pushing the menu button. On-screen digital controls allow fine adjustments, such as horizontal and vertical moire reduction, convergence, color temperature, and overall geometry. The five-year warranty is significantly longer than the three years that most vendors provide.
WHAT'S NOT: Documentation, limited to a PDF file on a floppy disk, is inconvenient for quick lookups. The on-screen menu disappears quickly if you don't make a choice, and you cannot set it to remain on-screen longer.
In our display tests, photos seemed somewhat washed out and showed a white cast. Small text in our multisize font screen was very blurry.
WHAT ELSE: Includes a suite of five display utilities for high-resolution, large-format monitors.
UPSHOT: This is an excellent monitor for those who work with high-resolution images or need extensive color controls.
