Philips 107T
WHAT'S HOT: Philips put a lot of thought into the user experience with its 107T monitor. Two sets of up-down arrow buttons provide one-touch access to brightness and contrast adjustments, and they double as controls to navigate through well-organized menus labeled with both symbols and words (the latter in your choice of five European languages).
WHAT'S NOT: Our 107T came in dead last among recent competitors for graphics quality, with dull, muted colors in our photograph tests. Its text quality scored a bit better, but it's still near the bottom of the heap. Our Microsoft Word screen, for example, had a grayish pallor and thick, swollen-looking type with all fine details blurred out.
WHAT ELSE: Philips offers more generous tech support hours than most vendors, with 16-hour coverage on weekdays and 14 hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
UPSHOT: Given its image quality scores and less-than-bargain price, we recommend you look elsewhere.
