Crackers Play With Military Control Systems
Claim to have stolen software that controls satellite communications.
What%squots more, the group appears to have stolen software that the Department of Defense uses for monitoring and controlling the systems that make up the Defense Information Systems Network.
Screen shots of the software and interviews with members of MOD were posted at AntiOnline, a Web site that tracks high-profile computer break-ins.
In the interview, 1 of the group%squots 15 members says the software gives MODsters the ability to bring down the Defense Department%squots entire network. The unidentified cracker also noted that terrorists or governments would be interested in acquiring the data, but he said MOD has no intention of selling the information.
A Defense spokesperson said military officials are %dquotaware of the intrusion and looking into the matter.%dquot
