Plustek%squots Affordable One-Stop Scanner
OpticPro 9636T flatbed scanner delivers 30-bit color and true 600-by-1200 resolution for $149.
The preproduction version I tested was simple to install and operate. After I connected the OpticPro to my PC via a parallel port connector with pass-through printer adapter, it consistently produced good-looking images. The two 35mm film holders--one for slides, one for negative strips--fit easily under the scanner%squots cover. Though it lacks an automatic document feeder, the OpticPro 9636T is a versatile scanning choice, and it%squots easily the most affordable all-in-one scanner we%squotve seen to date.
