Weird Audio on Compaq Deskpros

If your favorite rock band sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks on your Compaq Deskpro, you may have run into a common problem with these systems. Compaq says that users who upgrade to Windows Me from Windows 98 (original or Second Edition) on its Deskpro EN series and on some Deskpro EX series machines may find that their MP3 files play back too fast. If Tom Waits suddenly sounds like Betty Boop, you need to obtain Compaq's patch. Visit Compaq for the full rundown of the problem and a link to the download.
