Beta of Internet Explorer 5.0 Available Today
You can download Microsoft's latest browser today from the Web.
While this version is intended for developers, anybody may download it, as long as they register for Microsoft's Site Builder network (see the link to your right for more information). Microsoft says it's making the beta available so Web site builders can experiment with the Web standards the new browser supports, including XML and improvements to dynamic HTML.
According to Microsoft, IE 5 also includes an improved FTP interface that allows file uploading, drag-and-drop support, and file deleting.
Be sure to check the readme file before you install version 5. It contains instructions on how to uninstall IE 5 and restore version 4 should you decide to do so.
