Sonicblue RioVolt SP250

WHAT'S HOT: The SP250 has a small, well-organized LCD screen for viewing track and artist information; an FM tuner; and buttons for accessing different folders of music stored on the CD. This player can hold up to 250 songs (depending, in part, on file format) on a typical 700MB disc, and its ample 8 minutes of shock protection keeps songs from skipping. Sound quality is excellent, as is the design of the unit's controls and remote.
WHAT'S NOT: All of the features that make this a great player also make this unit thicker and heavier than a standard portable CD player.
WHAT ELSE: The player is compatible with both Macs and PCs.
UPSHOT: The RioVolt SP250 packs lots of features and comes with a remote control, but this player is pretty hefty to tote around.
