Get Quick Business Info From E-Mail Lists

Find timely news, hot tips, and financial savvy to spare with these e-mail newsletters.

Need a resource for advice about running your business or updates on the state of the market? Check out these e-mail lists on a variety of business-related and financial topics.

Bizweb E-Gazette Newsletter

This informative mailing focuses on the emerging area of marketing over the Internet. Owned by JDD Publishing Company (aka Jim Daniels), the content presented here every week is clear and informative. The Marketing Tip of the Week, for example, covers subjects like why and how to market your services through e-mail mailing lists and what mistakes to avoid in an Internet business. The newsletter also includes classifieds and feature articles, usually written by Jim or another cybermarketer. For business beginners and e-marketers, this is a good newsletter to get if you want only one.

To subscribe, send e-mail to subscribe@jdd-publishing.com and type subscribe in the body of the document.

Fortune's Street Life Newsletter

This relatively short daily newsletter--often penned by Fortune columnist Andrew Sewer--covers the world of money, stocks, IPOs, business deals, and other goings on. Street Life includes three or four short paragraphs about individual topics and a column called "Loose Change." Sewer's style is personality-rich and unbridled--so you'll find a lot of exclamation points throughout the text!! Other columnists are more subdued. Overall, you'll get a good condensed write-up of what happened that day, as well as professional opinions about movers, shakers, law, and money makers. To subscribe, go to the Fortune Web site (see link at right).

CNN Headline News

This daily news update often includes a summary of the day's top story, as well as a blurb for each of the top stories in world and U.S. affairs, politics, business, science and technology, sports, and entertainment. When appropriate, the blurbs are accompanied by links to additional coverage and analysis over at the CNN site. Unlike many news lists, the HTML edition of Headline News regularly includes photographs. To sign up, visit CNN's e-mail services page (see link at right).

You can also sign up for additional CNN news summaries: Fringe Mail is a Friday morning wrap-up of the week's strangest stories, AllPolitics.com E-Wire sums up the political scene, and CNN/SI is a text-only sports guide.
