Red Hat released the latest version of its Linux software Monday, adding the newest version of the KDE graphical desktop interface and the ability to configure a personal firewall at installation.

Red Hat Linux version 7.3 carries the same price tag as version 7.2, which Red Hat released in October: $59.95 for Red Hat Linux 7.3 Personal for individual users and $199.95 for Red Hat Linux 7.3 Professional.

The professional version is aimed at small businesses and includes several months of support.

In Stores Soon

The software is available now at Red Hat's Web site for download in most countries, and scheduled to go on sale in retail stores May 15.

In addition to KDE 3.0, the new Red Hat Linux incorporates Ximian's Gnome 1.4, the Mozilla Web browser, improved support for digital cameras, and video conferencing and project management software.

A complete list of Red Hat Linux 7.3's features is available on Red Hat's Web site.
