HP Readies Small-Business Storage
Updated MSA, StorageWorks products support network-attached storage and backup.

Hewlett-Packard this week is expected to announce a new modular storage array and a data protection product.
At this week's HP Technology Forum 2005 in Orlando, HP plans to introduce the HP StorageWorks 1510i Modular Storage Array (MSA) and the HP StorageWorks Data Protector Express.
Both storage products are designed for use in small and midsize businesses.
Pricing, Specs
The MSA 1510i runs on iSCI and connects to the Gigabit Ethernet network. It is a variant of the MSA 1500, which is a Fibre Channel-based array, capable of storing as much as 24 terabytes of data. HP developed the product line to meet the needs of small businesses.
The HP StorageWorks Data Protector Express is back-up and recovery software that can protect as many as 20 Windows, Linux, or NetWare servers. It can back up data to tape, disk, or optical media and perform bare metal disaster recovery including One Button Disaster Recovery from HP. Data Protector Express also supports Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL server.
Pricing for the HP StorageWorks MSA 1510i starts at $8000. The price tag for the HP StorageWorks Data Protector Express software starts at $799.
