
Every month I hear from PC World Readers about the issues they're having with their machines. While I can't respond to everyone, I answer as many as possible. If I know the solution to a problem, or believe I can give some good advice, I'll reply. I don't have time to research questions other than the few that appear in print or on PCWorld.com. (But see "Advice for Resolving the Questions I Can't Answer" for tips on conducting your own research.)
In my years of writing this column, I've seen some questions that readers ask repeatedly. The following tips solve the problems that nearly every PC user will encounter eventually, so if you don't need these answers right now, keep 'em handy: They'll be useful to you someday.
