Hyatt Hotels & Resorts on Monday announced plans to offer iPod dock-equipped clock radios in its U.S., Canada and Caribbean properties, and also unveiled a new digital download music pilot program.

Hyatt announced that U.S., Canada and Caribbean properties will feature iHome clock radios. The clock radios feature an iPod docking station and speakers, seven time zone settings and an alarm reset feature.

Hyatt has partnered with Audiosuite to develop 'unique destination-specific music collections' for select properties. The company is kicking off the program with collections tailored specifically for its Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch, and Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa, located between Austin and Bastrop, Texas. Hyatt said it plans to expand the program to its other properties across North America and the Caribbean throughout the year.

The music collections, to be made available for purchase in MP3 format, feature songs that Hyatt says 'bring out the indigenous personality of each property.' The tone, style and pace of the music adjusts throughout the day. They’re available for purchase at the Scottsdale and Lost Pines’ Web sites, respectively. Artists represented on the Scottsdale collections include Bebel Gilberto, Future Loop Foundation and Koop; the Lost Pines collections include local Texas artists, blues music, western swing and more.
