Gefen has introduced three new products aimed at professional video editors and producers looking to use dual-link DVI-capable displays such as Apple's 30-inch Cinema HD display. The products include a 4x1 switcher, 2x2 switcher and 1:2 splitter; they cost US$899, $649 and $349 respectively.
The 4x1 DVI DL Switcher lets up to four computers share one dual link DVI display. Computers can be controlled using a single keyboard and mouse connected through USB 2.0. Switching can be controlled using an IR remote or using a front panel button.
The 2x2 DVI DL Switcher connects two computers to two dual-link DVI displays, and also features USB 2.0 keyboard and mouse control. Both switchers have a mini-headphone (3.5mm) stereo audio jack.
The 1:2 DVI DL Splitter distributes two identical dual link DVI signals using one source, so you can output the same image to more than one display without having to hamper the computer's video card. Multiple DVI DL Splitters can be stacked to broaden the distribution, according to Gefen.
