Do you love or hate Apple? For most of you, it's a little bit of both. Some of our editors feel this way too, which is why they wrote "10 Things We Hate About Apple" and "10 Things We Love About Apple." What is your favorite Apple commercial? Is Apple right to keep its secrets? Read the articles, then tell us what you think--love, hate, or both--in the forums.

Have you ever received an e-mail that seems too strange or too funny to be real? A lot of people got duped by the hoaxes on our top 25 list, although there were suggestions about some that we missed. Anyone remember the kitty in a bottle or the $350 Spam recipe? Read our list and then share the pranks that you remember.

We end with product reviews from users like you. Which camera makes one member "weep with elation"? Check out the reviews to find out.

10 Things We Hate About Apple

lkrupp says: Apple is certainly not perfect by any stretch of the imagination and some of the points are quite valid. Apple is in business to change the world and make money. They can't do the former without doing the latter.

climacs says: Regarding number 10, "doesn't play well with others"--yeah people really hate that. Any day now, they will stop buying iPods in droves and instead start buying Microsoft's Zune.

samelkh says: I agree with everything you mention except number 2. Apple does not want Microshaft to copy what they do. I wish they were more open; I would be writing this on C2D that was released shortly after I bought my Core Duo. Microsoft is now in the music business [and soon] will be in the phone business. [It's also] trying hard to beat Google in the search engine business. Microsoft does not have a creative bone in its pathetic body, so it copies. That is why Apple is so secretive.

PutteFnasker says: This is the strangest reason I have ever heard for anyone to hate Apple: because they don't tell me what they are planning. So in reality, it is an acknowledgment of the company's greatness and not an actual ground to hate them.

10 Things We Love About Apple

kennmsr says: Love those "Get a Mac" ads, especially the ones from the UK. My favorites are "Naughty Step" and "Pie Chart." Love that British humor. Japan also has some great variations but you must speak Japanese to get the full impact.

dwr50 says: And now that they have added Complete My CD to iTunes, you can add those crappy CD filler tracks to your collection!

vasic says: In the States, my personal favorite is "Security" ("Mac has issued a salutation; cancel or allow?"). During my first encounter with Vista, some weeks ago, I was laughing out loud, thinking of this commercial every thirty seconds. Vista kept throwing up these dialogue boxes (Cancel or Allow) for every single minute thing I was trying to do. I could not believe how dead-on the commercial was.

chefmitch says: What I love about Apple, more than anything else, is that stuff just works. It really seems that the people who designed the hardware/software really thought about the user. Stuff just works the way you would expect.

Top 25 Web Hoaxes and Pranks

tedk says: How could you leave off the Bonsai Kitten prank by MIT? That should be one of the top 5 Internet pranks. Come on PC World, get on the ball!

Jakew says: The original Tourist Guy hoax may not have been amusing--but the spin-offs placing him on the Titanic, at the Hindenburg crash, etc., sure were.

c128user says: What about the $350 Spam recipe? Not long after I first saw the $250 cookie recipe (which supposedly was a Neiman-Marcus cookie) I received an e-mail about someone going on a tour of a Midwest meat-packing plant and the recipe that cost $350 instead of $3.50. The recipe was supposed to be for Spam (the luncheon meat) and was itself a hoax because it contained several inedible items.

mikeligalig says: I just told the Nigerian scammers that my brother or uncle works with the CIA or with the FBI and that I have forwarded their e-mail to the CIA or to the FBI so the agency could help solve their dilemma.
