The miniStack v3 was designed to complement Apple’s Mac mini but works with any Mac or PC. It measures 6.5 x 6.5 x 1.5 inches.

it features one eSATA, two FireWire 800, one FireWire 400 and three USB 2.0 interfaces. Inside, the unit’s 1TB drive mechanism operates at 7200RPM with 32MB of on-board cache. The power supply is external and auto-switching, and the drive contains intelligent thermal monitoring and automatic power on/power off with the computer. A Kensington-compatible security slot is also built in.

If you don’t need the terabyte of storage capacity, Newer offers the miniStack v3 in other capacities starting with a “0GB” do-it-yourself model at $119.99.
