Iomega on Monday introduced enhancements to its dual-interface line of eGo external, portable hard disk drives. The newest drive comes in 250GB capacity. It costs $229.95 and is available now.

The eGo drives feature both USB 2.0 and FireWire 400 interfaces, and are available in Cherry Red, Jet Black and Alpine White. No power supply is required, and Iomega incudes EMC Retrospect backup software (the drives can also be used with Leopard's Time Machine backup).

The drive is also equipped with "DropGuard," technology that can secure the drive from accidental damage caused by drops of up to 51 inches.

The drive works with Mac OS X v10.1.5 or later.
