Logitech has introduced its ClearChat PC Wireless headset, a USB-based headset that provides stereo audio and microphone capabilities. It's Mac OS X and Windows compatible and plug-and-play. Look for it in May for US$99.

The ClearChat uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology to communicate with its base, and works up to 33 feet (10 meters) away from the transmitter. Logitech says the headset utilizes an advanced algorithm to help minimize interference from other wireless devices.

The device works with Voice over IP (VoIP) software and with games and game services that support in-game chat capabilities.

The mic is noise-canceling and on a flexible boom so you can adjust the distance to your mouth. Volume and mute controls are located on the right earpiece. The microphone will also automatically mute when rotated to an upright position, and glows red when muted. The headband and the ear cups are padded.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later and an available USB port. The headset ships with a USB wireless transmitter, wireless transmitter stand, A charger and documentation.
