EA this week announced Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Monopoly for all major platforms, both scheduled for release later this year.
In tandem with the fall release of the movie with the same name, the Half-Blood Prince has Harry outwitting Voldemort in an effort to restore balance to both the Muggle and wizarding worlds. The adventure game is scheduled for release on Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS, Windows, Macintosh, and mobile devices.
"Building on the technological advancements of previous games in the series and with a particular focus on the unique control system of Nintendo's Wii, the team here is working closely with the filmmakers to create an immersive interactive experience that captures the story, the action, the excitement and, above all, the fun of the film," said Harvey Elliott, Head of EA Bright Light studio.
Additionally, EA announced Monopoly (working title) for Wii, Xbox 360, and PS2. The 4-player board game is also scheduled for release this fall. "With this dynamic take on Hasbro's classic board game, we've accelerated the pace of play, added new interactive mini-game sequences and integrated multi-player moments designed to make Monopoly a non-stop party for the whole family," said Chip Lange, general manager of EA's Casual Label.
