If you like to research your heritage, Synium Software has released a new public beta of MacFamilyTree that you may be interested in.

MacFamilyTree 5.2 public beta adds a new 3D Virtual Tree, allowing people to navigate their entire family tree in 3D. The company says that 3D works from all perspectives, rendering a three-dimensional mesh of a person and their relations. You can also use a Navigator to "literally fly through your own ancestry."

The update enhances other areas of the application as well. The interface and workflow have been updated and GEDCOM imports are now faster than before.

MacFamilyTree 5.2 is a free update for version 5.x users. For new users the application costs US$49.
