Members of The Camino Project have released an update for its Camino Web browser. The browser is an alternative to Apple's Safari and Firefox on the Mac.
Fixed in Camino 1.6.1 is Camino will no longer crash when attempting to add a search engine that uses POST; Camino displays more useful error messages when it is unable to add a search engine; it now supports a wider variety of search engine definition files; compatibility with Adobe Dreamweaver and other applications that use a deprecated AppleEvent to open documents in Camino has been restored; robustness of code used to access the Keychain has been improved; and Command-period will now close the Find toolbar on Mac OS X 10.5.
Camino is built on Mozilla's Gecko rendering engine, which is used by Mozilla and Firefox.
Camino 1.6.1 is available for download from the Web site.
