With nature in full bloom in June, we couldn't help getting creative with this month's collection of new files. Start by spicing up your PC's downtime with a screen saver: Download screen savers featuring daredevil flyers the Blue Angels, Impressionist paintings or a collection intergalactic photos taken with the Hubble telescope, depending on your mood.

Don't know how you feel? Wallpaper Changer gives you a new desktop image at scheduled intervals. If you want to create your own art, try your hand at one of today's top drawing programs with a trial version of Macromedia's Freehand. Or have fun and make some beautiful moves going one-on-one against Michael Jordan in NBA Live 2000.

  1. Blue Angel Theme: Get a virtual aeronautic thrill with this desktop theme featuring the high-flying Blue Angels. This utility offers a bounty of desktop goodies, including 28 screens of images, wallpaper, icons, animated cursors, start-up and shutdown screens, and .wav sound files.

  2. All-Purpose Spell Checker: Make sure your spelling is flawless. This shareware tool lets you check the spelling of text in almost any application. It runs inconspicuously on your system. Pay the $5 registration fee and you'll be able to customize the dictionary and gain access to foreign language dictionaries.

  3. WatchCat: Keep your desktop clutter free by hiding running applications. Hidden apps stay off your desktop, taskbar, and Alt-Tab list, and are accessed via an icon in system tray and special configurable menus. This freeware utility includes hot-key support, timer operations, and a show-all/hide-all option.

  4. Wallpaper Changer: Automatically change your desktop's wallpaper and background images on startup, daily, or at regular intervals. You can set the display order or have the program display your images at random. This freeware app supports most popular graphical formats and offers tiling, centering, and resizing options.

  5. AutoMate Pro: Program your PC to execute repetitive tasks, such as sending e-mail, scanning for viruses, and backing up files. Set keystrokes, button clicks, and mouse movements, and schedule positioning info for time-sensitive strokes or triggers. This 30-day trial version presents improved variable support and notifies you of task failures. Also offered are new hot keys, an enhanced triggering system, and bug fixes.

  6. The Impressionist Paintings Screen Saver: This free screen saver displays a collection of 40 images from some of the world's greatest Impressionist painters, including Monet, Renoir, Gauguin, Manet, Loiseau, Cabanel, and Cizanne. It also includes 20 minutes of MIDI synthesized classical music.

  7. 2000 Hubble STScI Collection: Celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Hubble Telescope. This screen saver features an awe-inspiring collection of photos taken by the space telescope. It includes images of stars being born, colliding galaxies, and exotic planets. The free trial version lets you view 12 images for 30 days.
