Nokia Introduces New E-Series Phone: The E75

Nokia Wednesday unveiled the new addition to its E-series range, the Nokia E75 with Nokia Messaging Service which provides e-mail solutions on Nokia devices with the pre-installed Nokia Messaging push e-mail service. According to a press release the E75 is the first device from Nokia that offers complete integration of email and messaging services and provides an easy process for instant email set up and supports up to 16 email accounts.

The Nokia E75 boasts of full desktop email functionality along with both standard keypad and QWERTY keypad. The Nokia E75 will support all features of Nokia Messaging Service -- a number of third party email solutions, namely Gmail, Yahoo, Rediffmail, Sify, Indiatimes, Net4, Hotmail and In.com amongst others.

Lenovo Launches New All-In-One Desktop

Lenovo has launched the IdeaCentre A600 -- Lenovo's first all-in-one desktop. According to a press release, the new IdeaCentre A600 all-in-one features a 21.5-inch frameless screen that measures an inch at its slimmest point.

The A600 features a 4-in-1 optical remote which enables four features including 'motion sensor' gaming feature. The 4-in-1 remote control can also be used as a VOIP 3 handset to make and receive phone calls over the Internet. Additionally, the remote also serves as a media center/TV remote, and with Microsoft Vista Media Center, users can use the controller to operate DVDs, movies and TV. Lastly, the remote also functions as an "air mouse" so it can be used to operate the cursor on the screen.

Trend Micro Launches Web Browsing Security App on App Store

Trend Micro Monday announced its Trend Smart Surfing application which is now available on the Apple App Store. Trend Smart Surfing is a free secure browser application for iPhone and iPod touch that offers a layer of protection against Web threats by blocking access to malicious Web sites. It prevents users of iPhone and iPod touch from unintentionally visiting Web sites that may contain malicious content designed to steal confidential information and personal data. The Trend Micro Smart Protection Network is a cloud-client infrastructure that checks the security of more than five billion URL, email, and file queries daily, providing customers with real-time protection against web threats.

Logitech Introduces Cordless Desktop S520

Logitech has announced the cordless Desktop S520 with a keyboard-and-mouse combination. The laser mouse delivers better precision and smoother tracking, as compared to optical mice.

Logitech claims the battery life of the mouse and the keyboard is eight months and 15 months respectively. With one-touch access to Word, Excel and your Internet browser --your favorite applications are a click away. Four additional programmable F-keys let you customize your keyboard and a full set of media and volume controls make managing your media, photos and music easy.

Netgear Launches First Six-Bay Desktop NAS

Netgear has announced the worldwide availability of a six-bay desktop network-attached storage solution (NAS) for small- and medium-sized businesses. A press release claims that this is the first such NAS in the world and that it is designed to meet the centralized network storage needs of up to 200-user SMBs. Branded the ReadyNAS Pro, the product line is available in storage capacities of 1.5TB (RNDP6350), 3TB (RNDP6310), and 6TB (RNDP6610.

The release further states that the ReadyNAS Pro provides up to 6TB of network-attached storage, enabling users across the LAN or WAN to store, back up and share digital data from a combination of Windows, Macintosh and Linux platforms. The ReadyNAS Pro supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and auto-expandable X-RAID2 to provide data protection against single or double disk failure. It also features dual redundant Gigabit Ethernet ports for failover protection. The ReadyNAS Pro products support up to six SATA II hard drives via six lockable, hot-swappable disk trays. Three USB 2.0 ports enable the connection of external USB drives, printers and battery backup devices.

Cell Phone for 'Pre-Teens' Unveiled by Samsung

Samsung has revealed a new cellphone, the S3030 Tobi, which is aimed at 'pre-teens'. The phone features an interface which has been especially designed for younger audiences and comprises of animated characters and themes. Samsung has also made the phone eco-friendly by using bio-plastics, non-toxic paints and non-allergenic materials in its manufacturing process. The younger users will also like the changeable rear covers that also have a sleeve to put in your own pictures.

For parents concerned about their children's safety, the phone has features such as fake call, SOS messages and SOS calls. The phone is only GSM compatible and weighs less than 100 grams. It has a sliding form factor and features a TFT screen which can display a resolution of 144x176. Memory requirements are handled by the 15MB of internal memory and a microSD slot which supports up to 8GB of memory cards.

Logitech Shows Off Three New iPod Speakers

Logitech has introduced three new iPod/MP3 speakers under the Pure-Fi range- Pure-Fi Anywhere, Pure-Fi Anytime and Pure-Fi Express.

According to a press release, Logitech's Pure-Fi Anytime has motion sensing technology and is compatible with the iPhone. The Pure-Fi Anytime allows you to dock your iPod or iPhone and also works as an alarm clock. The alarm clock's controls light up when you wave your hand over the speakers and the buttons automatically dim when you are done using it. The snooze function also responds to motion controls and the speakers also offer digital AM/FM radio.

Asus Eee PC 1000H to Be Replaced

Asus will be replacing their Eee PC 1000H model of netbooks with the 1002HA. The new netbook has a thinner profile but features almost the same design as the 1000H. It will also feature a brushed metal external shell and front mounted speakers and the same system specifications as the older model with a 1.6 GHz Intel N270 Atom Processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard disk and will run on Windows XP. It will have a two cell 4200mAh battery which Asus claims will last for five hours because of the 'Super Hybrid Engine Technology'.

As compared to the 1000H, the 1002HA will come at a higher price but will also have a lower battery life. The netbook will further feature a 10-inch display which can display a resolution of 1024x768 and thanks to Asus' Eee Storage, users will get 10GB of free online storage space.

Motorola Announces the VE 66 Multimedia Phone

Motorola unveiled the VE 66 phone Tuesday, a new slider phone with a 5 megapixel camera, 2.2 inch screen and Motorola's proprietary 'Crystal Talk' feature. Motorola claims that this new feature improves the voice clarity during calls especially conversations made in noisy environments. The phone will be available in two versions, one that supports UMTS/3G and the other only meant for GSM use in China.

The phone runs on Montovista, a Linux OS and sports a 500MHz Freescale SCM-A11 processor. You can also record videos in QVGA with the 5MP camera. The phone's interface can be navigated with the help of a 'FastScroll' touch-sensitive navigation wheel. The phone's connectivity features include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support. The phone is also integrated with news widgets. In terms of multimedia, the VE 66 has an MP3 player and FM Radio. The phone has an internal memory of 110MB and supports microSD cards.

Linksys Launches WAG160N Wireless Router

Linksys has announced the availability of the WAG160N, a Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway that integrates the functionalities of an ADSL2+ Modem, Router, 4-port Switch and a Wireless-N Access Point.

According to a press release, the WAG160N is the newest addition to the Wireless-N line-up and it features the same design as sported by the recent Ultra RangePlus family of Wireless-N routers (WRT160N and WRT310N). The new design features an internal antenna technology which integrates the antenna into the device body.

Logitech Launches New Laptop Mouse

The new Logitech V550 Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks features a Clip-and-Go dock that lets users conveniently clip the V550 Mouse to their laptop while moving around. The Nano-receiver stays nearly flush against the side of the computer (protruding just 8 mm), so it doesn't have to be unplugged when you stow your laptop. The V550 Mouse offers up to 18 months of battery life and is the only Logitech cordless laser mouse currently offering this extended level of use. Also, the V550 Nano saves additional power by automatically turning off when it's docked or when the Nano-receiver is stored inside the mouse.

The V550 Nano is offered in two colors - gray with silver accents and silver with cool-blue accents. And with the purchase of the new Logitech mouse, you'll receive two Clip-and-Go docks - one silver, one black. An included setup kit makes it easy to install the dock, and to remove it, if necessary.

Google's Web 2.0 Services Invite Spam

According to a report released by Websense Security Labs, recently, spammers have used a combination of different Google Web 2.0 services to carry out a range of attacks.

Spammers are creating bogus accounts on YouTube and Blogspot to promote their services, abusing both services. The bogus accounts on YouTube advertise multiple videos of same theme with 'inappropriate' content, clearly abusing the terms and conditions of YouTube services.
