Nintendo DS was the second best-selling platform right behind Wii and PSP sold better than PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3.
It's back and forth between Microsoft and Sony, while Nintendo trumps both with more Wii sales than Xbox 360 and PS3 combined.
Xbox 360 won the latest round in the monthly battle with PlayStation 3 hardware sales, according to figures released by NPD Friday. Of course, both figures--195k for Xbox 360 and 185k sold of PS3--pale to the nearly half a million Wii consoles Nintendo moved.
Nintendo last week proclaimed its Wii the new console leader in U.S. sales after just 20 months, claiming a market of nearly 10.9 million units.
NPD sales data backs up the claim. Wii moved 666,700 units in the month of June, which is enough to push it over Microsoft's Xbox 360 as the dominant platform in North America.
