Unlock Your iPhone, Get a Drum

Developers have created yet another use for a jailbroken iPhone -- as a drum machine.

A group of developers calling itself MooTheCow has created Drummer, a native application which works on unlocked iPhones and the iPod touch. The software turns the device into a drum pad.

Drummer users can play up to 15 audio samples with rock, dance, jazz and electro drum kits pre-configured for use within the application. Drum kits can be expanded with the addition of a users own samples. It's also possible to play drums in time to MP3s played by the device.

While the majority of iPhone users haven't yet moved to jailbreak their device, the introduction of the Drummer application hints at the kind of applications that could soon be made widely available through the soon to launch App Store.
