Prosoft Engineering released an update for its backup, restore and synchronizing utility. Among the changes is a fix for an issue that caused full and incremental backups to not work properly with network disks.
Other changes in Data Backup 3.0.5 include error messages have been turned off when copying files with attributes to Appleshare volumes that do not support attributes (most NAS devices); environment variables are now set for scripts under Mac OS X Leopard; fixed restores to folder with ACL set; fixed some error messages to report properly; and the update fixed encrypted and compressed restores.
Data Backup 3 has the ability to create backup sets by dragging and dropping files or by choosing one of the prebuilt backup presets.
The update is free for registered users and the application costs $59 for new users.
