T-Mobile has announced decreasing charges for those surfing the Net while abroad in mainland Europe.
The mobile phone operator is slashing prices from £7.50 (US$15) per MB to £1.50 per MB. The move, which comes into play on July 1, meets the deadline set by EU Commissioner Viviane Reding at the GSM Mobile World Conference, which took place in Barcelona in February.
At the conference, Reading announced to operators that if they didn't lower charges for texting and surfing the net while abroad, then she would be forced to bring in legislation to regulate charges.
The operator also announced that from July 1 the charges for sending text messaging while abroad would be dropped to 25 pence per message.
As yet, none of the U.K.'s other operators have announced any price cuts for customers for surfing and texting abroad.
