Asus will be replacing their Eee PC 1000H model of netbooks with the 1002HA. The new netbook has a thinner profile but features almost the same design as the 1000H. It will also feature a brushed metal external shell and front mounted speakers and the same system specifications as the older model with a 1.6 GHz Intel N270 Atom Processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard disk and will run on Windows XP. It will have a two cell 4200mAh battery which Asus claims will last for five hours because of the 'Super Hybrid Engine Technology'.

As compared to the 1000H, the 1002HA will come at a higher price but will also have a lower battery life. The netbook will further feature a 10-inch display which can display a resolution of 1024x768 and thanks to Asus' Eee Storage, users will get 10GB of free online storage space.

The 1002HA will hit American markets on December 1 and will retail for US$499 (Rs. 24,885) while in Europe it will sell for €449 (Rs. 28,341).
