SPSS this week is releasing PASW Statistics 18, a new version of the application formerly known as SPSS Statistics, the statistics application suite for academic, government, and enterprise organizations.
The suite is used for advanced statistical analysis. The company cites examples such as resource planning; business forecasting; quality assurance; medical and other scientific research; and marketing.
New features in PASW Statistics 18 include Nearest Neighbor Analysis, advanced visualization capabilities, the PASW Direct Marketing module designed for that business, and new automated data preparation tools.
System requirements include Mac OS X 10.4 or later, a minimum of 512MB of RAM installed; 800MB of free hard drive space; and Java Standard Edition (J2SE 5.0) installed. It costs $1,800.
