Unsocial IOS App Connects Business Professionals

A new iPhone app aims to help business professionals network by alerting them to nearby users with shared interests.

Unsocial has been available in the App Store since October, but emerged from beta testing this week in conjunction with the AppNation conference in San Francisco. The social networking app integrates with LinkedIn and lets users broadcast their professional information to other nearby Unsocial users. The app--which is being pitched at business clients who attend conferences and trade shows--includes a tagging system to help users meet other professionals with similar interests.

The app also alerts users to nearby events of interest, and includes a "live" feature that can be used at conferences to distribute agendas and other event information to attendees. And an integrated messaging system lets users contact each other to set up a meeting without having to convey phone numbers or e-mail addresses. Unsocial is also available for BlackBerry and Android devices.

Unsocial is free, and compatible with devices running iOS 3.1.2 or later.
