Description of Macromedia Flash

You shouldn't have to limit the audience viewing your animations to broadband users. Flash is arguably the de facto standard for Web animations, and the speedy downloading of your creations can keep even your 56K modem users satisfied. Because Flash uses vectors instead of pixels, your animations, presentations, and applications's file size remain small, resulting in faster downloads than those created with .gif graphics.

You can buld animations using your own graphics, or import files from Photoshop, Illustrator, and Freehand. Advanced users can also create buttons and games, and control MIDI files.
