Editorial Review of Forecastfox Weather for Chrome

Mark Twain once said, "Everyone talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it." Much like the Firefox version, free Chrome extension Forecastfox Weather may not let you change the weather, but it does a great job of putting the weather at your fingertips, wherever you are on the Web.

Install Forecastfox Weather into Chrome, and it displays as an icon in the upper-right hand portion of the screen. The icon displays the temperature and also shows whether it's sunny, cloudy, raining or snowing. For example, it shows a small image of the sun for a sunny day. To get more details, hover your mouse over the icon, and you'll get a brief description of the current weather such as "Most cloudy, 32 degrees Fahrenheit." Your location will also display. You can tweak the settings to display the temperature in Celsius, and can also change the windspeed from mph (miles per hour) to km/h (kilometers per hour).

Click the icon and a seven-day weather forecast from Accuweather appears in a pop-up window, with nicely done graphics next to each day (an icy thermometer for a day in which the temperature won't rise above 14 degrees Fahrenheit, for example). You'll also see details about the current conditions, including temperature, humidity, wind speed, visibility and barometric pressure. Forecastfox Weather also displays a weather map showing the current conditions. To get more details about any day of the week, click that day, and you'll be sent to the Accuweather site for more details.

If you regularly check the weather, you'll find the Forecastfox Weather Chrome extension a great time-saver, because you'll be able to get weather information wherever you are on the Web.
