Description of StarOffice
Many dreams of a Microsoft-free world are squashed because it is so hard to find other programs that share standards. StarOffice is compatible with Office documents, and is cross-platform compatible with Solaris, Linux, and Windows operating systems. StarOffice includes word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications. You can open and view files created in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, WordPerfect, and AmiPro Documents look the same in all three environments. Note that macros embedded in Microsoft documents are proprietary, and cannot be converted into StarOffice.
