Description of DetachXP
Outlook XP (2002) has tight security around the attachments that it will accept, making it harder for viruses and malicious programs to enter your system. Problem is, it can also keep you from getting attachments that you want. DetachXP allows you to access file attachments deemed insecure in Microsoft Outlook 2002, without having to manually edit the Windows Registry.
There are three preset risk levels: Low Risk gives you access to very commonly used file types, like documents created by programs. Medium Risk adds executable files, such as programs and screen savers, to your access list. High Risk is for the brave of heart, allowing you access to all aforementioned files, as well as scriptable file types, such as VBScript and JavaScript, commonly associated with Internet worms. You can also use its Custom setting, which allows you to choose specific file types to allow access.
