Strengths:
Weaknesses: Would not install. Kept getting error messages during installation. Also, free version does not cover hotmail.
Overall Evaluation: uninstalled program as it would not run.

Overall Evaluation: I have tried others and this program is head and shoulders above all others. Easy to set up, it does all the work after that. I would have no other.

Strengths: First Alert spam base, easy to set up, can set up more than one email account including hotmail accounts, abilty to edit fake domains with wildcards to catch all of the generated sender names, specific filters and spam lists can be created, can recover accidently deleted emails.
Weaknesses: If the size of the black list gets too big, you will get errors.
Overall Evaluation: I had tried other spam filtering software, including one built into my email program, but they never quite did the trick. MailWasher catches and purges over 90% of incoming spam, and after running the program through it's "Learning" phase, you can actually boost that to close to 100% of spam is filtered and purged.

Strengths: (1) Detecting SPAM via user rules using 'Regular Expressions' (2) Stats on the type of eMails you receive (3) The ability to process multiple POP3 accounts (4) Bayesian filter learns to identify new spam the more it analyzes incoming messages (5) Setup was easy
Weaknesses: 1) 'Regular Expressions' not the easy to learn
