Editorial Review of ACDSee Photo Manager

You won't find a more comprehensive photo management tool than ACDSee Photo Manager 2009. Name a feature, and this program has it. To begin with, it has excellent organizational tools, allowing you to view photos by folder, by content (for example, do they have people in them or not?), by rating, by those that are most commonly used and viewed...and by far more, as well. Want to view photos categorized by the camera make, model, and owner? Yes, it can do that. How about by the aperture, shutter speed, or focal length? It does that as well, and much more.

If all ACDSee Photo Manager did was organize your photos, this would be a great piece of software. But it also has extremely good editing tools, ranging from cropping to resizing, changing the exposure, reducing red eye, sharpening, adding special effect, among many others. You can also convert your photos into other formats, either individually or in batch mode. And you can also send them by e-mail, or upload them to the Flickr and SmugMug photo sharing sites.

ACDSee Photo Manager isn't free, but if you care about managing your photos, it's well worth the registration price. Note that when you install it, by default it will install the Yahoo toolbar. If you don't want the toolbar installed, make sure to uncheck the box during the installation procedure.
