Description of Microsoft Windows Media Player

Microsoft doesn't intend for its latest version of Windows Media Player to sit idly on your desktop. With new device support, Smart Jukebox features, and options for shopping, there's plenty to do in WMP these days.

The new Auto Sync feature lets any of 70 supported devices sync automatically or manually with your PC. If you're using a high-capacity portable music player, this can mean that every track ripped or downloaded to your PC can leave the PC with you. Tagging and ratings-based organization make it easier to find the tracks you like best.

Windows Media Player CD supports burning from within the player, and you can also burn Windows Media Audio and MP3 files. The program supports music subscription services Napster, MusicMatch, Music Now, and Wal-Mart Music, so you can seamlessly buy music online.
