Suspicious of your ISP's claim about your connection speed? Time for due diligence. Bandwidth Monitor monitors your connection for the current speed of your uploads and downloads. The program works whether you use modem, cable, ADSL, or a LAN. The real-time speed indicator, available both as a numeric display, a graph vs. time, and a system-tray icon, lets you know if that download, e-mail retrieval or Web-page loading really froze or is going on full speed. Bandwidth Monitor also assists you in detecting possible intrusions. If it detects activity when you're not doing anything, there good be a bad guy coming after your computer.
