Description of Fix-It Utilities
Windows comes with a defragger, but according to PC World columnist Steve Bass, this utility is 40% faster than the one that comes with Windows 98. Fix-It Utilities uses a "JETDeFrag" technology to speed up the defrag process, which can oftentimes seem intermidable. The utility is really a suite of tools, which also includes scan-on-demand virus protection, a clock synchronizer, a program that tracks Windows error messages, and an early warning system that tells you if your hard drive is having problems. This version introduces Recovery Commander, an advanced data recovery system that corrects major system file damage that prevents your system from booting.
