Description of Silencer
Suppose you've got a program that works like a dream...except for its nasty habit of reporting your online whereabouts to some corporate Big Brother. Silencer disables communications between your software and its "mothership," which means you don't have to wonder who's peeking through the other end of your Internet connection. It detects spyware using Aureate/Radiate, Web3000, Conducent/TimeSink, Cydoor and several others. It misdirects the spyware's reports from your host caches towards a different IP address--even one you specify.
Note: The vendor does not recommend using this software on networked PCs.
