Although Hollywood is probably none too pleased, several DVD copying utilities have hit the market, among them 1st DVD Ripper. It encodes to MPEG1 and MPEG2, and you finished copy can be in any number of video file formats, including VCD, SVCD, DIVX and AVI. You can rip the entire DVD or just the part you want to convert. Like others in its class, it has a wizard to guide you through the process. It has an auto shutdown feature when your copy is completed. This latest version is optimized for those with Pentium 4 processors.
