This simple freebie solves a problem too many of us often have--how
to recover passwords we've forgotten, for example to a Web site, or
to your Web mail. Asterisk Key works only if your browser has
remembered the password. So, for example, if you are logging into a
Web site, and when you type in your user name, your browser
remembers it, this program will be able to look under the asterisks
or dots that typically mask a password, and then reveal them to
you. You can also save your results to a text file, so that you
have a permanent record of it.
It's exceedingly simple to use. When you're at a Web site whose
password you want to recover, run the program, click the Recover
button, and Asterisk Key does its work. Note that the program is
free--but if you want versions of it to recover passwords from
specific applications, such as Lotus
Notes, Outlook, OneNote, and others, you can order for-pay
versions of that specific software from Passware.
