Description of MyUninstaller

Do you waver over Windows' uninstaller, wondering whether you'd get more use out of a program or out of the space it takes up? This installation utility gives you more data, helping you make an informed decision. It tells you the product name and company, its location, the version number, whether the program is obsolete, and more of points that help you decide whether to uninstall. It lets you save a list of installed applications as a text file or HTML file so you can keep a record of what's on your system.

  Duration of ownership: 3 Months

  Strengths: Good clear interface; shows more than Add-Remove Programs

  Weaknesses: None, just that there is one better product

  Overall Evaluation: I used this program until I discovered Revo Uninstaller, and I recommend Revo above this one. Revo gives several options to remove a program: Level 1 - use the program's uninstaller only; Level 2 - Safe scan for other files and registry entries; Level 3 - Deep scan for other files and registry entries. My Uninstaller lacks these extra features but is fine as far as it goes.

  Weaknesses: After reading reviews, I was afraid ti /o go to the site PC World listed so I tried the listing posted by the reviewer at Nirsoft.com. I could not find the progam at that site! Sounded like a good program anyway!

  Duration of ownership: 1 Months

  Strengths: It is easy to use, but note that the latest version is on the author's site, www.nirsoft.com, and as of 1/9/2008 it was version 1.37.

  Weaknesses: PC World needs to update the version offered and the Author link because it is pointing to dangerous site. It should be http://www.nirsoft.net/

  Weaknesses: site sends to spyware and adwares

  Overall Evaluation: PCWorld really let us down on this one.Click on the Nir Sofer,and a warning comes up saying stay away as you will be redirected to a CJB,net site trying to install spywate and adwares without permissions.Usually PC world is very cautious,but how did they let this slip by on My Uninstaller?
